Promoting the Transformation of “Artisan Wisdom” into Development Momentum for Small, Medium, and Micro Enterprises: The First Event of Sichuan Province’s “Model Workers and Craftsmen Assist Enterprises” Initiative—A Visit to a Specialized, Refined, and Innovative “Little Giant” Enterprise—is Held.
This newspaper reports (reporter Zhang Chenling, text and photos): To fully leverage the exemplary and leading role of model workers and skilled craftsmen and to promote the specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative development of small and medium-sized enterprises, the All-China Federation of Trade Unions and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently jointly issued a notice announcing the full-scale implementation of the "Model Workers and Skilled Craftsmen Support Enterprises Initiative" starting July 17. Concurrently, Sichuan Province's "Model Workers and Skilled Craftsmen Support Enterprises Initiative"—a special event focused on "Little Giant" enterprises that are specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative—was launched at Sichuan Hongsheng Petroleum Engineering Technical Services Co., Ltd. in Lezhi County, Ziyang City. Sichuan Dongfang Guangsha Modular Housing Co., Ltd. and Sichuan May Day Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd., among other enterprises, also participated in the event.
Peng Chuang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Group and Vice Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Trade Unions, and Yuan Hong, Member of the Standing Committee of Ziyang Municipal Party Committee and Chairman of the Municipal Federation of Trade Unions, attended the event and delivered speeches. Seven model workers and top experts from fields such as electronic information, petroleum and petrochemicals, and artificial intelligence—including Pan Yuhua, leader of the Innovation Studio for Model Workers and Craftsmen at the 29th Research Institute of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation, a “Great Country Craftsman”—engaged in in-depth exchanges and shared their experiences with enterprises, thereby building a bridge for "intellectual support and technical consultations."
The atmosphere at the event was vibrant and enthusiastic. “How can labor model and artisan innovation studios be operated and managed more effectively to better fulfill their roles?” and “How can digital technologies be applied to cementing operations using cement slurry?” Addressing the current challenges, pain points, and technical needs of enterprises, the labor models and artisans drew on their years of frontline experience to offer both practical and effective suggestions as well as insightful and incisive analyses. This face-to-face, heart-to-heart dialogue not only clarified ideas through the exchange of perspectives but also ensured that the advanced concepts and noble spirit of these labor models and artisans continued to be passed on and celebrated through ongoing communication.
At the symposium, Peng Chuang pointed out that the “Model Workers and Craftsmen Assist Enterprises” initiative is an important measure for advancing the reform of industrial worker development and harnessing the exemplary and leading role of model workers and craftsmen. He urged everyone to take this as a starting point and continue providing follow-up service coordination, intellectual support, and technical assistance, establishing a long-term mechanism to help enterprises overcome difficulties, cultivate talent, and enhance efficiency. All-level trade unions across the province should align themselves with the new deployments and requirements set forth by the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, implementing the “Model Workers and Craftsmen Assist Enterprises” initiative in a more focused, precise, and professional manner. By doing so, they can ensure that each year at least 1,500 model workers and craftsmen participate, serving 1,000 enterprises, helping resolve 1,500 technical issues, and improving the skill levels of 15,000 employees. It is essential to actively build a pool of experts for the “Model Workers and Craftsmen Assist Enterprises” initiative, continuously empowering specialized, sophisticated, and innovative “little giants” as well as small and micro enterprises. Moreover, a demand-matching mechanism should be established to seamlessly connect enterprises’ “demand lists” with model workers and craftsmen’s “resource lists,” promoting the synergistic resonance between the “three spirits” and enterprise production and operations, thus creating a number of replicable and scalable best practices and success stories. This will help our province’s special campaign “Model Workers and Craftsmen Assist Enterprises” stay at the forefront of the nation.
It is understood that, since last year, the provincial trade union has been implementing the arrangements and deployments of the Party Central Committee and the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, launching the “Model Workers and Craftsmen Assist Enterprises” campaign across the province. At the provincial level, two specialized digital events were held under the “Model Workers and Craftsmen Assist Enterprises” initiative, guiding localities and various organizations to arrange 56 activities involving 205 model workers and craftsmen. These on-site activities resolved 108 technical issues and helped improve the skill levels of 2,060 employees. In June of this year, a demonstration event titled “Attracting Wisdom to Assist Enterprises,” along with a special action for the digital and intelligent application of the “Model Workers and Craftsmen Assist Enterprises” initiative, was launched in Leshan. During this event, more than 100 enterprises within the province identified 181 specific needs, and 147 university experts, model workers, and craftsmen, together with 134 enterprises from inside and outside the province, participated on-site, making positive contributions to promoting high-quality enterprise development.

Good News: Sinopec Achieves New Breakthrough in “Deep-Earth Engineering”
Recently, Sinopec’s “Deep-Earth Engineering–Sichuan–Chongqing Natural Gas Base” has once again reported a significant breakthrough. The Yonghong-1 well, a key ultra-deep tight sandstone exploration well deployed by Sinopec Exploration Branch in Bazhong City, Sichuan Province, has successfully tested high-producing gas flows, marking an important new stratigraphic breakthrough in the Jurassic system of the Sichuan Basin. This discovery confirms the favorable exploration and development potential of the Jurassic tight sandstones in the Bazhong area, suggesting the prospect of establishing a new resource base for increasing reserves and boosting production in the Sichuan Basin.
