Ultra-high-density latex cement slurry system successfully implemented.

Classification:

Summary:On December 12, 2013, our company’s independently developed ultra-high-density (2.80 g/cm³) latex-based cement slurry for preventing channeling was successfully applied in the cementing operation of the Φ244.5 mm casing at Well Wen72-421 in the Zhongyuan Oilfield. The construction process went smoothly, the slurry exhibited excellent fluidity, and the cement slurry density was uniform (with a maximum density of 2.82 g/cm³), resulting in high-quality cementing results.

On December 12, 2013, our company’s independently developed ultra-high-density (2.80 g/cm³) latex-based cement slurry for preventing channeling was successfully applied in the cementing operation of the Φ244.5 mm casing at Well Wen72-421 in the Zhongyuan Oilfield. The construction process went smoothly, the slurry exhibited excellent fluidity, and the cement slurry density was uniform (with a maximum density of 2.82 g/cm³). The cementing quality was outstanding.

  Design concept:

① Based on the principle of particle gradation: effectively reduce the liquid-solid ratio (keeping the L/S ratio at 0.23), increase the solid-phase content and cement content, resulting in high compressive strength of the cement stone (26.5 MPa/25℃ × 0.1 MPa × 48 h) and excellent bonding quality.

② According to the density gradation principle: Reducing the density difference between solid phases results in good slurry settling stability (0.02 g/cm³).

  Function and Significance:

① Successfully adapted latex cement slurry with a density of 2.80 g/cm³ from laboratory applications to field operations, providing both technical reserves and field experience for cementing under extreme conditions.

② The cement slurry materials have been fully localized, effectively shortening the construction period and reducing costs.

Good News: Sinopec Achieves New Breakthrough in “Deep-Earth Engineering”

Recently, Sinopec’s “Deep-Earth Engineering–Sichuan–Chongqing Natural Gas Base” has once again reported a significant breakthrough. The Yonghong-1 well, a key ultra-deep tight sandstone exploration well deployed by Sinopec Exploration Branch in Bazhong City, Sichuan Province, has successfully tested high-producing gas flows, marking an important new stratigraphic breakthrough in the Jurassic system of the Sichuan Basin. This discovery confirms the favorable exploration and development potential of the Jurassic tight sandstones in the Bazhong area, suggesting the prospect of establishing a new resource base for increasing reserves and boosting production in the Sichuan Basin.
