Recently, the Jianghan Oilfield’s Fuling Shale Gas Field announced some groundbreaking news: Well Jiaoye 44-Z5HF has set three new Asian records in one fell swoop—with a total well depth of 8,517 meters, a horizontal section length of 5,442 meters, and a drilling cycle of just 53.88 days—making it the deepest shale gas well in Asia, the onshore well with the longest horizontal section, and the fastest drilling operation by Sinopec above 8,000 meters! This milestone marks yet another major breakthrough for China in ultra-long horizontal shale gas well drilling technology.

China Petrochemical Corporation's "Deep Earth Project" Achieves Major Breakthrough

On May 13, Sinopec announced that the "Deep Earth Project—Sichuan-Chongqing Natural Gas Base" of Sinopec has achieved another major breakthrough. The Tiebei 1 side HF well, deployed by the Zhongyuan Oilfield in the Puguang area of the Sichuan Basin, has successfully tested a high-yield industrial gas flow of 314,500 cubic meters per day.

The following are China’s top 10 natural gas fields: Anyue Gas Field: Located in the central part of the Sichuan Basin, it is the first large-scale, fully-developed gas field in the southern Sichuan region with proven reserves exceeding 100 billion cubic meters. It spans Ziyang and Suining in Sichuan Province as well as Tongnan District in Chongqing Municipality. With abundant reserves, high-quality gas, and high production levels, it is currently the largest single marine carbonate reservoir in China.

[Reprinted] Thematic Initiative | Resin Cement Slurry Delivers Remarkable Performance in Cementing Applications

Recently, the 139.7-mm production casing in Well Jinshan 105H, which is under the jurisdiction of the Cementing Branch, was successfully sealed for the first time using resin-based cement slurry. The well has completed acoustic amplitude logging and passed the full-wellbore pressure test with flying results. Logging data indicate that the quality of the cemented interval meets the design requirements. Moreover, even in the presence of oil-based drilling fluid in the wellbore, the resin-based cement slurry used in the tail section demonstrated excellent sealing performance. The length of the cemented interval using resin-based cement slurry reached 1,200 meters, setting a new company record for the longest cemented interval ever achieved.
